Competition for kids takes car design to 24 US states

11 January 2017 | by Maxine Morland

Our first ever interactive design competition for high-school students has had entries from talented teenagers in 24 US states.

The Car Design News - GM Interactive Competition is now in the semi-final stage, and the youngsters who have entered are getting feedback from senior GM designers through the competition website.

On 20 January we will be announcing the finalists, who go through to the next stage, and could win a Summer Experience course at the renowned College for Creative Studies and a brand new iPad, courtesy of competition sponsor Dinamica.

“The main aims of this competition are to get high-school students interested in car design and to look for talent. The geographical spread of the entries we have had is great news too, as we wanted to reach out to kids beyond the traditional car producing regions of the US,” said Chris Maillard, Editor of Car Design News.

The three winners will be announced on 8 February.
