Assistant Editor
Car Design News
West London

We’re looking for an Assistant Editor to help run Car Design News.

We provide unique news, informed reviews, in-depth features and much more to a global audience of smart, visually literate design professionals. Our subject matter is top-secret concept cars, show-stopping prototypes, the very latest production models, and the people and processes which make them all possible.

We’re looking for somebody with journalism experience, a good news sense and a grasp of automotive basics. You’ll need to be able to work a CMS, research pictures, interview superstar designers, and help with all the other tasks involved in keeping a busy, successful website (www.cardesignnews.com) and several high-class print publications running smoothly.

If you’re the sort of enthusiast who just wants to thrash performance cars until the tyres glow red hot, sorry, we’re not your thing. But if you appreciate the art and craft of car design, and can write about it intelligently, we’d be very keen to meet you.

This isn’t an entry-level job, and the salary will reflect that. Though we’re a small and friendly company, we are happy to pay good people a fair wage. If you’ve been working for any of the large consumer publishing groups, you may be pleasantly surprised.

CDN is a part of Ultima Media www.ultimamedia.com, a lively and creative B2B media company, currently 40-strong, which is internationally-focused and dedicated to the automotive sector. The position is based in the company’s office in Hammersmith, West London.

There will be plenty of international travel involved, and there will also be scope to take on more responsibility if and when you feel ready for it.
