About Nissan in China

Nissan came to China in 1973, and the brand has developed rapidly in China since the 1990s. As the wholly owned subsidiary of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. based in Beijing, Nissan (China) Investment Co., Ltd. (NCIC) manages Nissan’s investment in China together with the parent company. Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. (DFL) is a joint-venture between Nissan and Dongfeng Motor Corporation. Under it, Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (DFL-PV) mainly produces passenger vehicles, while Zhengzhou Nissan Automobile Co., Ltd. (ZNA) specializes in light commercial vehicles. In fiscal year 2015, the company sold 1.25million vehicles in China.

Nissan Design China

Nissan Design China is one of Nissan’s 4 global design studios, and is responsible for the design and development of both concept cars and production vehicles for the Nissan and Infiniti brands. Here, inspiration and creativity of Chinese designers are utilized to deliver attractive and innovative designs to China, Asian countries, and worldwide markets as well.

日产汽车在中国的发展始于1973年,自上世纪90年代开始,日产汽车在中国取得了迅猛的发展。日产(中国)投资有限公司(NCIC)作为日产汽车驻北京的全资子公司与日产汽车公司一起管理在华投资。东风汽车有限公司(DFL)作为日产汽车与东风汽车公司成立的合资企业,旗下东风日产乘用车公司(DFL-PV)负责日产品牌乘用车业务,而郑州日产汽车公司(ZNA)则致力于成为轻型商用车领域的专家。2015年,日产汽车在华销量达到125万辆。

日产中国设计中心:

日产中国设计中心是日产全球四大设计中心之一,负责NISSAN和INFINITI概念车和量产车的设计和开发。利用中国设计师的灵感和创造力,向中国和亚洲地区,以及全世界展示富有魅力的创新设计。

Yoshihisa Akiyama

VP Nissan Design China, VP Infiniti Design Beijing

Akiyama graduated with a Bachelor of Education from Aichi University, Japan, in March 1983. He joined Nissan in 2002, as a Product Chief Designer. He has since worked on many projects, notably Cube, Note, Kicks, Lannia, Rogue, X-trail, Serena, Pathfinder, Armada, Titan, NV-3500, Hi-Cross concept, Blade Glider concept and Friend-ME concept cars.

In 2007, he moved to the US with Nissan Design America as a Design Director, and moved back to Japan in 2011, and worked as a Global Design Director for all SUVs, crossovers, minivans and LCVs for Nissan Brand, before taking up his current role as VP design for Nissan Design China (NDC) and VP design for Infiniti Design Beijing (IDB) in 2016.

He manages the studio in Beijing as a VP, but he is also Design Director for all NDC and IDB design programmes.

Yoshihisa Akiyama believes that in the future, Nissan and Infiniti brand will continue to lead innovations for electric vehicles, autonomous technology and awesome driving excitement. His focus is to visualise Nissan’s and Infiniti’s competitive products with design excellence, especially from NDC/IDB studio.
