Nissan’s new man in Brazil

Nissan head Alfonso Albaisa is continuing to fine-tune his global team, and his latest appointment is at the company’s Design Satellite Studio in Brazil. John Sahs, a highly experienced Vietnamese-born American, has moved from his position leading interior design at Nissan Design America to head up the Latin American studio.

Sahs graduated from Art Center in California in 1992. He lived in Japan for 20 years, where he worked for Nissan Global. He was responsible for the interior of the 2001 GT-R Concept and the Denki Cube concept, plus the exterior of the 2003 Nissan Serenity Concept and the 2009/2010 Nissan Cube.

His most high-profile project was probably the Nissan Resonance concept (covered by us in some depth at the time and pictured below), which won the award for best concept car at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.
