The AI Explorer Award embodies the spirit of innovation that drives the automotive and technology sectors forward, and it will be featured at Automobility LA (AMLA), the Los Angeles Auto Show’s invite-only press and industry day, taking place on Thursday, November 21 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

As the use of artificial intelligence grows, the LAAS acknowledges the importance of fostering and celebrating the next generation of innovators. The award serves as a platform for recognising those who are not only pushing the industry forward but also exploring the limits of AI technology.

The collaboration surrounding the AI Explorer Award offers a remarkable opportunity for the shortlisted candidates to engage with the dynamic environment of the AutoMobility LA. The finalists for 2024 are: Harry Franklin from Loughborough University; the Interactive Cabin Design team from Xi’an Jiaotong University; Kasturi Kailas Katale from the National Institute of Design; Shima Solati and Jason Song from General Motors and the College for Creative Studies; and Markus Leszczyk from the Umeå Institute of Design.

All finalists have been invited to attend the AutoMobility LA this November to be honored with a special feature that highlights their accomplishments. This event not only recognises innovative contributions to the industry but also fosters a vibrant community of fellow innovators, facilitating invaluable networking, knowledge sharing and potential collaborations – essential for advancing the fields of technology and automotive design.
