The new series is positioned at the top of the range and is the first to involve the new Junior
Alfa Romeo has revealed the Intensa special series during the brand’s international roadshow.
Synonymous with Alfa Romeo’s brand identity, each model is embellished with golden details, taking inspiration from gold smithery and iconic names such as Freccia d’Oro and Quadrifoglio Oro.
Alfa Romeo’s design is characterised by sportiness and technical innovation, with the Intensa editions of the Tonale, Stelvio, Guilia and Junior continuing to embody this. Speaking of which, order books open for the Junior in April.
The Intensa series is the first to include the Junior, the Italian OEM’s entry into the B-segment released in 2024. In a previous interview with Car Design News, design VP Alejandro Mesonero-Romano commented: “Doing a new Stelvio or Giulia, that is a story of continuity with a mature cast. With the Junior we needed to break a few rules to make it stand out and bring new people to the brand.”
Each edition in the series features alloy wheels, brake calipers with gold detailing and the Italian flag motif on the exterior, along with signature tan accents and stitching. Despite these commonalities, each model features a few differing design characteristics in line with their respective segments: the Stelvio and Tonale Intensa both feature 20-inch wheels, while the Giulia saloon adopts a 19-inch variant, and the Junior maintains an 18-inch setup.
The Tonale differentiates itself with its Dark Miron matte gray elements and dual chrome-plated exhausts, whereas the Stelvio and Giulia adhere to a more traditional alloy and brake caliper combination.
Inside, while all models incorporate a blend of leather and Alcantara upholstery. The Tonale is notable for its multi-coloured ambient lighting and the MY25 update, which consists of a redesigned central tunnel and revamped instrument cluster display.
Through these deliberate design nuances, each Intensa model remains deeply rooted in Alfa Romeo’s heritage while offering a distinct character tailored to different driving experiences.
