”Reduced, raw, authentic.” That’s how Bugatti describes its new Bolide – a race-orientated hypercar concept that pushes the boundaries in engineering and design.
Nils Sajonz leads special projects at Bugatti Design, and was tasked with overseeing the design of the Bolide. In this latest Car Design News podcast, Sajonz describes the key design elements of the car, and talks through the challenges of creating such an extreme and powerful vehicle.
He also speaks about his early interest in sketching and transportation, and gives some interesting advice for young designers that are looking to start their careers in the automotive industry. Below is a selection of images provided by Bugatti showing some of Nils’ sketchwork, renderings of the Bolide, and the physical concept in the skin.
