Car Design News and Ultrafabrics have launched the Colour, Materials & Finish (CMF) Trend Survey 2025, inviting automotive designers to contribute insights on the evolving trends shaping vehicle interiors and exteriors.

This initiative aims to capture innovations, preferences and regional differences to better understand the direction of CMF design across the industry.

The survey covers four key areas:

  • Colour – exploring interior & exterior colour trends by vehicle segment and region
  • Materials – from PU leather to bio-based materials, analysing interior material trends and innovation
  • Finish – focussing on interiors & exterior finish and texture trends
  • Cultural & consumer influences – drilling down into CMF trends by region, generation and vehicle segment
