Having recently employed an architect to produce plans for some remodeling on my house, I was frustrated at the reluctance to embrace new ideas for intersecting walls and surfaces. Anything more complex than perfectly straight walls and 90-degree angles was met with a lot of sucking of teeth and shaking of heads by both architect and builder alike. This left me wondering why automotive designers and architects still approach design from such different directions.
