Gilles Vidal will be starting at Groupe Renault in November 2020. He will be reporting to Laurens van den Acker, executive vice president of corporate design and member of Groupe Renault’s executive committee.

Vidal graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Vevey, Switzerland. He started his career at Citroen working in both the exterior and interior design teams. After managing the design of the C4 and C4 Picasso he lead the concept car design team at Citroen before joining the Peugeot brand in 2009.
He became design director at Peugeot in 2010, overseeing various models such as the 3008 and the 508, as well as the creation of the Peugeot Design Lab agency. He also took charge of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) developments.
Vidal’s last role as design director of Peugeot has been filled by Matthias Hossann.
