Reporting directly to the CEO, Rice’s new position was announced today in Milan
On the same day that Pininfarina SpA was celebrating 90 years of operation, in Milan, Italy, the design house announced that Kevin Rice, most recently VP Design at Chery, was to become its chief creative officer.
Kevin Rice will report directly to Silvio Pietro Angori, and, alongside offering strategic guidance to the Group on all aspects of design, Rice will have direct reponsibility for the mobility design business unit at Pininfarina.
Rice moved to Chery in 2018 from Mazda, and has been based in Chery’s Frankfurt studio. While Rice was at Mazda he worked on the 2018 Concept Car of the Year, the Mazda Vision Coupé, implementing Mazda’s ‘soul of motion’ design philosophy. At the time Rice referred to that concept as the bookend for the Kodo, representing refinement and elegance.
We look forward to seeing what he does at Pininfarina in coming years.
