Car Design News is returning to the Salone del Mobile in Milan to explore the topic of originality in CMF
The conventional car show might be in question, but one thing is for sure: Milan Design Week is on the rise and is more car-centric than ever. It’s only right that Car Design News returns for another exclusive event as the Salone is in full flow.
Held once again with our partner Maserati and taking place on Tuesday 8 April 2024, Car Design Dialogues Milan brings insight from top designers and the best opportunity to connect (and re-connect) with industry leaders. We are also excited to share the results of this year’s CMF survey.
Originality in CMF will take place at the Maserati showroom on Viale di Porta Vercellina and will focus on three pivotal themes:
Technology: How are dynamic materials like colour-shifting paints, 3D-printed textures and crystal finishes helping designers to create personalised, seamless and functional interiors and exteriors?
Sustainability: How might new materials create new forms and aesthetics that align with a sustainable future, be it recycled textiles or bio-based plastics to traditional materials with exemplary provenance?
Brand: How can luxury and premium brands balances originality with customer expectations, ensuring CMF design reflects their identity while forging an emotional connection with users
Hosted by Car Design News editor James McLachlan, two panels will take place with speakers including:
Joanne Lewis, head of colour and material design at McLaren Automotive
Tiziana Mauri, head of C&T design at Audi AG
Klaus Busse, head of design at Maserati and SDS Stellantis Studio
Lars Schmidt, global SVP at Swarovski Mobility
Laura Brunet, chief colour and material designer at Lancia
Ben Payne, VP design at Lotus
As CDN has done consistently since its inception in the early 90s, our events provide the ideal opportunity to build new connections, get inspired and spark discussions over refreshments. And where better to do that than in beautiful Spring-time Milan.
Space is limited, but OEM designers can apply for a pass here.
