Having recently employed an architect to produce plans for some remodeling on my house, I was frustrated at the reluctance to embrace new ideas for intersecting walls and surfaces. Anything more complex than perfectly straight walls and 90-degree angles was met with a lot of sucking of teeth and shaking of heads by both architect and builder alike.
